That’s the short version of this review, in the longer one we’ll take a closer look.
I like this material a lot more than their previous stuff as I feel this holds up in the long run, a status their earlier material didn’t quite reach. The grind elements are gone and the riffs are a lot more rocking. The opening track „Firebomb“ operate in the fairly the same territory as Inepsy, only with a slightly heavier and faster approach. In the following „Blood on their hands“ this lingers on, but is at the same time the track that sounds the most as „old“ Immured with the sound being more crustcore. Flip the side and we’ll find those Bombenalarm similarities I was talking about in „Faktor arbeit“ – a groovy, yet speedy, tune and the only one to fully take advantage of the dual vocals. Same as on side A they keep some of the first track in the second, this time the add-on being them showing their affection for Discharge in the speedy riffs.
A large variety of influences but still not too diverse as you can see, making the four tracks on here both varied and true to a certain style – the groovy, semi-fast, slightly metallic crustcore. I must admit I’ve always had a few problems with the dark vocal style, but as soon as the music the band puts forth got as interesting as it is now this opinion was wiped away. Immured is a band that finally got all out of what they had in them, very nice.
www.attackfanzine.net

My first go with Immured was not a very positive one, but a few years later their fullength entered my mailbox and I was really digging it. So what will this time be like? Well the main reason for my change in attitude towards this band was their change in sound, going from a not-so-convincing grind/crust act to rocking and rolling crustcore. And this time around it’s even more rock n roll. Discharge meets Motörhead on tour in Germany. Side A deals with anti nazi issues while side B deals with factory work and USA – Lyric wise, that is, ‘cause music wise it’s just as appealing to the rock dudes as the punks. Now it’s a tad too much rock n roll for my taste, but I find it hard not to get swept away in the energy. It’s damn powerful stuff, no doubt about it! Like I said; Discharge meets Motörhead on tour in Germany.
www.mylastchapter.net

Fake New World LP/MC 2005

TIPP {CD AUS FRANKEN}

Or maybe they’ve just evolved alot since the promo I received a couple of years ago. Some rocking hardcorish German crustcore – and rocking is a word I’ll probably use a number of times for this review.
I listened to this CD alot when I first got it, ‚cause I thought it kicked so much fuckin‘ arse. You can’t help but to let your head nod along, and the scream-along friendly choruses doesn’t hurt either. In Plant the Seed you just wanna scream your guts out mother nature, a WHORE! Motörhead is no stranger to this band, that’s for sure. And I suppose that’s what makes this album such a great one, as it brings along so much melody (without making it melodic, trust me) into this, and the energy we get from the hardcore, as well as brutality from crustcore. The vocals are great; it suits the rock parts perfectly. But in the long run it wouldn’t have hurt if they used more back ups. But then again, in the end you just don’t have the energy to care about it, ‚cause the music drags you in and makes you forget all about it! The lyrics concern everything from xenophobia to the ideals of the western world to the destruction of our earth.
This stuff really gets my blood boiling, and I’m bloody happy they didn’t give up on me the last time and decided not to send me this for review. ‚Cause I would probably have missed out on one of the most rocking records of the year.
www.mylastchapter.net

This is my second run-in with German Immured and they have improved a lot since their 2002 promo. Nothing excitingly new or original, but I don’t think that’s what this band is all about. They just wanna play crusty German hardcore, and that they do. I actually think this would fit well on the, also German, label Epistrophy – I believe they would get along well, if that helps you get an idea on what Immured sound like.
My thoughts on this LP come and go. The day before yesterday I listened to it pretty much all day, but then yesterday I only gave it one spin.
